Full Terms & Conditions

Select any section below to read the full details.

01. About these terms

These Terms & Conditions apply to products and services supplied by Heartlands Business Gifts Ltd trading as The Workwear Lab.

They apply to orders placed through our website and, where applicable, orders accepted by telephone, email or another agreed ordering method.

Nothing in these terms is intended to remove or reduce any rights that cannot legally be excluded.

02. Business customers and consumers

We supply both businesses and individual consumers. Some legal rights and obligations differ depending on whether you are purchasing wholly or mainly for business purposes or as an individual consumer.

If you are purchasing on behalf of a business or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to place the order on its behalf.

Where consumer law gives you additional statutory rights, those rights are not affected by these Terms & Conditions.

03. Products and product information

We take reasonable care to describe products accurately. Product photographs, illustrations, colours and dimensions are intended as a guide and minor differences may occur.

Garment sizes can vary between brands, styles and manufacturers. Customers should review the relevant size information before ordering.

Manufacturers may alter specifications, colours, materials or packaging without notice. Where a material change affects your order, we will contact you where reasonably practicable.

04. Personalised and customised products

Products that are embroidered, printed, engraved, named or otherwise personalised are manufactured specifically for your order.

You are responsible for supplying accurate personalisation details, including names, spelling, job titles, numbers, colours, quantities and branding requirements.

Once production of a customised item has commenced, cancellation or alteration may not be possible.

Customised products cannot normally be returned simply because they are no longer required, subject always to your statutory rights where an item is faulty, incorrect or not as described.

05. Artwork & proofs

Where branding is required, we may prepare an artwork proof for approval before production.

You should carefully check all aspects of the proof, including:

  • Spelling and wording.
  • Names and personalisation details.
  • Logo version and orientation.
  • Branding position.
  • Approximate branding size.
  • Colours and garment selection.
  • Quantities and other order details.

Production will ordinarily proceed using the approved artwork. If we manufacture an item differently from the approved artwork or agreed order, this does not affect any rights you may have in relation to an incorrect product.

06. Prices & VAT

Prices displayed on the website may be shown excluding or including VAT depending on the area of the site and customer type. The applicable VAT and total price will be shown before the order is completed.

Delivery charges and any other applicable charges will be shown where appropriate before checkout.

If an obvious pricing or system error occurs, we may contact you before accepting or fulfilling the order to correct the error.

07. Placing an order & contract formation

Placing an order represents an offer to purchase products or services from us.

An automated order acknowledgement confirms that we have received your order. It does not necessarily mean that the order has been accepted.

We may review product availability, payment, artwork and order requirements before accepting an order.

If we are unable to accept an order, we will notify you and arrange any appropriate refund for sums already paid.

08. Payment

Most website orders are paid by debit or credit card during checkout. American Express is not currently accepted.

Payment may also be arranged by bank transfer or, where agreed, by an emailed payment link.

Credit accounts are available only where separately applied for and approved.

Online card payments are processed by our appointed secure payment provider. The payment provider used on the website may change from time to time.

09. Availability

All products are subject to availability.

Stock information can change quickly and an item shown as available at the time of ordering may occasionally become unavailable before fulfilment.

If this happens, we may offer a suitable alternative, revised delivery timing or a refund for the affected item.

10. Production & lead times

Production and dispatch lead times are estimates unless we explicitly agree a fixed deadline with you.

Lead times can be affected by garment availability, order quantity, branding method, artwork approval, production capacity and circumstances outside our reasonable control.

For customised orders, production normally begins after artwork approval and payment arrangements have been completed.

11. Delivery

You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.

Delivery times quoted after dispatch are estimates provided by the relevant carrier unless a guaranteed service has specifically been agreed.

Additional charges may apply to deliveries outside mainland UK or to international destinations.

International customers may also be responsible for local duties, taxes, import charges and customs requirements.

12. Returns – plain products

Plain and non-customised items may be returned within 28 days of receipt for a refund or exchange, provided they are unused and in their original condition.

We may ask you to contact Customer Support before returning goods so that we can provide the correct return instructions.

Further details are available on our Returns Procedure page.

13. Returns – personalised products

Personalised and customised products are made specifically for your order and cannot normally be returned because you have changed your mind or no longer require them.

If you believe a customised product is faulty, incorrect or differs from your approved artwork or order, please contact Customer Support so that we can investigate.

14. Faulty, damaged or incorrect products

If you receive a product that is faulty, damaged, incorrect or does not correspond with the agreed order, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.

We may request photographs or other information to help us investigate the issue.

Where appropriate, we may arrange repair, replacement, exchange, refund or another suitable remedy in accordance with the circumstances and your applicable legal rights.

15. Customer-supplied artwork & intellectual property

Where you supply a logo, image, design, trade mark, wording or other material for reproduction, you confirm that you have the necessary rights, licence or permission for us to use that material in connection with your order.

You remain responsible for the content of materials you supply to us.

We reserve the right to refuse artwork or personalisation that we reasonably believe may infringe third-party rights, be unlawful or otherwise be inappropriate for production.

16. Colour reproduction & production tolerances

Colours can appear differently depending on screens, garments, fabrics, inks, embroidery threads and production methods.

Pantone or other colour references can help us achieve a close match, but exact reproduction across different materials and processes cannot always be guaranteed.

Minor reasonable variations in colour, size, placement, stitch appearance or print appearance may occur as part of normal manufacturing and branding processes.

17. Cancellation

If you wish to cancel an order, please contact us as quickly as possible.

For plain products, cancellation may be possible before dispatch.

For personalised or customised products, cancellation may not be possible once artwork preparation, materials, branding or production has commenced.

Consumers may have additional cancellation rights under applicable law, although statutory cancellation rights can differ for goods made to a customer's specification or clearly personalised.

18. Credit accounts

Credit accounts are available subject to application and approval.

Approved accounts may be subject to separate payment terms, credit limits and account conditions.

We may suspend or withdraw credit facilities where payments become overdue or where we reasonably consider this necessary.

19. Liability

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

Nothing in these terms affects statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.

For business customers, our liability may be subject to reasonable limitations permitted by law and appropriate to the contract concerned.

We are not responsible for losses caused solely by inaccurate information, artwork or instructions supplied by the customer, except to the extent that we have failed to perform our own obligations properly.

20. Events outside our reasonable control

We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control.

Examples may include severe weather, transport disruption, courier failures, supplier disruption, industrial action, power or communications failures, government action, fire, flood or other exceptional events.

Where such an event affects an order, we will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption and keep you informed where appropriate.

21. Privacy

We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy & Cookies notice.

The Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how it is used, who it may be shared with, how long it is retained and the rights available to individuals.

22. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to our products, services, business operations or legal requirements.

The version in force when your order is placed will normally apply to that order unless a change is required by law or separately agreed.

23. Governing law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory rights that apply to consumers in another part of the United Kingdom.

Any dispute will be dealt with by the courts having jurisdiction under applicable law.
